The UAI Artists “City of God” AI Filmmaking Scholarship

UAI ARTISTS, LLC is seeking talented storytellers from underrepresented backgrounds in the film industry – specifically those who are currently navigating financial hardship.

Inspired by the authentic, ground-level storytelling of City of God, (2002), we believe the most powerful narratives come from the perspectives that often get ignored. This scholarship is designed to empower talented writers who have a “unique story” but lack the traditional resources to get started in bringing it to life. We aren’t looking for polished Hollywood tropes; we want stories with an original pulse, told through the lens of emerging AI tools.

The Scholarship Award

To help bridge the gap between your script and the screen, the recipient will receive:

• The Education Grant: Full tuition for The AI Video School’s online course to facilitate and support your filmmaking journey.

• The UAI Spotlight: A featured showcase of your finished AI film across all UAI ARTISTS platforms, providing visibility to our global creative community.

Submission Requirements

To respect the review process, please adhere strictly to the word counts below.

1. The Logline (Max 35 Words)

One sentence that hooks us.

Formula: When [Inciting Incident] happens, a [Specific Character] must [Objective] before [High Stakes].

2. The 5-Point Beat Sheet (Max 300 Words)

Break down your film’s narrative arc:

• The Status Quo: Your unique character’s “normal” world.

• The Inciting Incident: The spark that starts the story.

• The Midpoint: The point of no return where the stakes rise.

• The All Is Lost: The emotional low point or moment of defeat.

• The Resolution: How the story ends and how the character has changed.

3. Visual Mood Board (3–5 AI-Generated Stills)

Show us the “look” of your film. Use any AI image generator to capture the lighting, texture, and emotion of your world.

DEADLINE: ROLLING

This scholarship is awarded on a rolling basis.

We are looking for exactly two recipients who meet our criteria. Reviewing will cease immediately once the two scholars are selected.

To ensure every story is given proper attention, we will only review the first 50 applications received. Once this cap is reached or the two recipients are chosen—whichever comes first—the submission portal will close.
